Large wooden dominoes

Our recycled pallet wood dominoes are hand made in our hertforshire workshop and include 28 very rustic tiles, each set is unique and charming, and are handmade from wooden pallets - making these the perfect game for family reunions, barbecues, outdoor wedding receptions . . or just for making happy memories with family and friends.

Dominoes is a timeless and traditional game, and is one of the oldest strategy games - believed to have originated in China, though Eygptian and Arabian origins are also theorised.

Dominoes evolved from Dice - each set has 28 dominoes or tiles. Each rectangular tile has a line dividing its face into 2 square ends which are each marked with a number of black spots of a blank space. There are many different versions of dominoes ranging from the simple to the complex - from games in which the game play is almost mechanical to games that require great skill and strategy.

Each domino is cut to a rough size of 13cm by 7cm (5"x2.5"), as to fit in with the pallet wood ethos each piece has been only lightly sanded to retain the original character of the wood.

The set comes with its own box which is also only lightly sanded, then nailed together (please note: the box can be screwed if required but pallet items tend to be made to be minimal and rustic) the box compliments the playing pieces. The dimensions of box is roughly 23cm by 30cm (9"x12") although the boxes are made to suit each particular set of dominoes.

The quality and aesthetics of these handmade pieces will also make them a beautiful addition to any farmhouse home décor, games room or man cave.
